Play writing Project
For this project Aspen and I made a story on a topic, our topic and issue was racial profiling, also getting pressure from others leads you to so bad things. Down below is the plot outline of the script I did with my partners. This is about two boys who have very different path and lies old lead the good people to do bad things.
Title: No Trust, No Justice

Human Flaws: Jealousy and anger, also Marcus struggles with the grief of his son.

Setting: L.A 2015

Mark (Caucasian teen troublemaker, son of police officer Miller)
Chris (African american teen, trying to his best to be better than his dad)
Main Character conflict:
External: Chris has an idea of the future he wants unlike his father who sells drugs to get his son to be where he wants. Having to deal with the comments of people around thinking Chris and his father are going nowhere. Even though he father sells drugs he does anything to get his son to be nothing like him. Chris having to deal with the racial comments of people in his school where he is the only black kid.
Internal: The lies of Mark cost more than just his father’s job at risk but the life of Chris even when he is not in the wrong. No one believes the truth when the lies look more better coming from a white family. Mark sets his revenge for not getting what he wants not caring what happens along the way as long as Chris end up in trouble.
Rising Action:
Climax:
Mark wants to bring Chris down for not giving him what he wanted, he tell his father that he was blackmailed from Chris and made him sell drugs. Mark knew they would believe him when Chris’s father sold and knowing how racist their city is, it was easy to pin the blame on him. Miller arrest Chris when he is seen at school knowing that this would end his path that his father worked so hard for.
Falling Action:
Everyone believes Chris and his father are drug dealers and happy Marcus is locked up.The father saying it was him who gave him the drugs however Mark choice to sell. Mark confesses saying he was the one who gave Mark drugs.
Resolution:
Chris’s path was destroyed never given a chance to have a good life, with the lies and the people not believing because of his color. Police not doing anything to Miller since at the time people hated african american.
Outline for Greek Tragedy:

They have a small discussion on school and grades than fighting about his job, Chris wanting him to quit but Marcus stands and walks away from anger knowing his son doesn’t understand the money is for him and his path. Out of know where a drug memeber a friend of Marcus come up to have a conversation about selling somewhere outside and selling in a high school. Marcus not wanting to do that he argues back and makes sure his son not hearing. He says he won't do that but his friend pats him on the back and heads back to the meeting room.
Chorus 2: Mrs. Mandy and Marcus’s friend discuss how people who make bad decisions that are bad people, and good people making bad decisions for their family, don't make a difference when all the people around you care about what you look like/where you're from. You are sometimes blinded by the care you have for you kids and you do anything at any cost to get them where they need to be.
Scene 3: Marcus is now in a meeting with the members he sells drugs with, now going back and forth with the members on how much money he can make by selling kids at drugs and making kids sell. Then he stands to check his bank box to see how much he has and every member saying that they need money too but there in the group for life and asking him to reconsider leaving after he gets what he needs.
Chorus 3: Teacher and drug memeber friends up on stage talking about how parents have to do a big part in where there kid can go. Mistakes cause trouble for there kid.
Scene 4: Chris is dropped at school where police are waiting for him. The police see’s Chris and arrest them. Chris screaming what is wrong as people around staring not caring for the helpless kid and saying mean things. Officer miller telling him he deserves what he gets.
Chorus 4:Teacher and drugs members say, people will say things because they assume the truth they don't see the lies because they can't stand change.
Exodus: In the courthouse where judge is deciding whether or not to send Chris to jail for the things he has done. Before the judge says anything Marcus stands and says it was him who sold the kid drugs and his son has nothing to do with it and sacrifices everything. Than Marcus sees that taking the blame for his son will not change the fact that the judge only believes Officer Miller.
Resolution: The story ends with Miller realizing that the reason people believed him was because he was a white american. Mark walks away harm free still not telling anyone that he got two people in jail when they did no wrong.
