If you keep doing, what you're doing, without making a chance. Where do you see yourself in ten years? In 8th grade I saw myself finishing a book, now I see myself being more intelligent, already done with college.
My name is Gisselle Arteaga a fifthteen year old freshman at high tech high international. Been in the high tech high village since 6th grade. For my P.O.L I am going to begin sharing my revisions in 9th grade, as well as my goals and who I am as a leader. As well as why I am ready to be a 10th grade. My assignment that best shows revision is my pinhole camera. My expectations with the overall project were this would be impossible if I didn't work on it and focus. Our requirements were to make a pinhole camera out of anything we wanted. This best shows revision because I went through multiple drafts to make my pinhole work.
My first draft of the pinhole camera was a Spam Camera. I wanted to challenge myself but it only made the process slower and impossible to find time to work on. When I finally got feedback on it. It’s not so much I gave up but I wanted to make sure my camera worked. I then did a match box camera revising and testing to make sure it worked. I would come in mornings and after school to do testing and revise. After that my photo wouldn't come out, so as a class we restarted and did a small match box. Revions were made and I finally got a photo I was happy with. After my revisions were made the photo I got that I was proud of I was told my final grade getting a B. I can really say I did work on this photo and my grade showed that. The process with revision in this project was useful if you took the advantages. There were multiple things we could change to revise. I learn you can always get critique to revise and I wouldn't have got a good photo without revising.
I learn best when we are hands on with a subject. Also being able to work with others around also is the best way I learn. I am also able to work with what I am giving, what I mean is when we start something new I am able to learn from it and being an open minded learner. As well as doing p.o.w write ups. I am able to show my work with the problems. When I am not able to ask questions because of embarssed. I find that difficult, I am able to overcome it when I first ask a friend then asking a teacher after I gain confidence. I try my best to surround myself with people who can help me.
I learn that I can get straight A’s if I put myself to do that and work hard for it. I need to start taking advantage of being able to get good grades if I work above and beyond.
The work I am most proud of is my Neighborhood Binder, the requirements were three assignments, research images and narration.
I am most proud because I got perfect score on two of three assignments. Showing that out group worked on and that made our group proud that we got our work done.
I am able to work well in a group as well as be a leader and if there is a leader work well with them.
Goals are not being tarty, being prepared, and setting goals to reach. Advice I would give incoming freshmen our being as successful as you can be. Working hard will only get you up. Lastly setting goals you know you will reach. If I follow these rules I know I will only get better at what I do.
